mannequins (III)

her jaw line is prominent,

her smile a perfect ten,

her nose not too little

or too bent.


her eyes shine but not

the way I’m used to;

her eyes shine with the

glow of the wild.


year after year I lay my gaze

on these ethereal mazes.

year after year I try and make

myself look like them,

a sight to be held with amaze.
